AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni is “calm” about Rafael Leao’s future as negotiations for a new contract for the in-demand forward continue.
Leao has been a revelation for the Rossoneri and was crucial to their Serie A championship win the previous year.
The likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Liverpool have all been mentioned in connection with the Portugal international.
Scaroni is hopeful that Leao, who has a contract with Milan through June 2024, will extend it and remain at the San Siro.
He stated this to Gazzetta dello Sport: “I am told that he feels good in Milan and that he is motivated.
“I know that [Milan technical director Paolo] Maldini is negotiating with him and as far as I just said if he negotiates, I’m calm.”
Leao scored goals in the World Cup matches against Ghana and Switzerland before Portugal was eliminated by upset-minded Morocco in the quarterfinal round in Qatar.
