Destiny Udogie, a left-back for Udinese, is sought by both Tottenham and Brighton.
Udogie emerged as one of the best young defenders in Serie A last season while on loan from Hellas Verona to Udinese, a loan that was made permanent earlier this summer when the latter’s obligation to buy for €4 million was activated.
Although Juventus and Inter have requested to be kept informed about interest in the 19-year-old from Serie A, sources have disclosed that interest from England may cause a potential deal to exceed their estimate of the player.
While Brighton is eager to offer Udogie immediate access to Premier League football, Tottenham and Udinese are in negotiations over a deal worth approximately €25 million that would see Udogie loaned out once more and potentially return for another season.
The Seagulls expect to lose Marc Cucurella to Chelsea and have identified Udogie as a possible replacement. Officials at the club are prepared to match Tottenham’s offer, hoping that the immediate path to the Premier League will help them win the race for Udogie’s signature.
If Brighton loses to Tottenham, they may consider taking Udogie on loan from their Premier League rivals.
