Nigeria’s women national team on Friday, climbed eight positions in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola women’s world ranking released after the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The Super Falons now occupy 32nd place in the the world .
Their rise can be attributed to their impressive performance at the tournament.
The nine-time African champions were unbeaten at the group stage, holding Olympic champions Canada to a 0-0 and edging out co-hosts Australia 3-2.
The Super Falcons were however eliminated 4-2 on penalties by The Three Lionesses of England in the last-16.
They remain the number one team in Africa.
South Africa, Cameroon, Morocco and Ghana complete the top five teams on the continent.
