Spain sacks coach Jorge Vilda 2 weeks after winning World Cup

Spanish FA has sacked coach Jorge Vilda.

The manager was dismissed as the head coach of women’s side two weeks on from their World Cup win in Australia.

Vilda, 42, led his country to their first ever World Cup triumph.

The FA decided to sack him following the crisis with the federation’s president Luis Rubiales

Vilda’s backroom staff had since resign, but the coach refused to join the exodus.
