AC Milan manager, Stefano Pioli, has revealed why the Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze has had a difficult start to his Rossoneri career.
Chukwueze left Villarreal for AC Milan at the end of July for €20 million but has struggled to adapt to life in the Serie A.
The Nigeria international has not scored a goal in nine outings.
He, however, started back-to-back games as AC Milan beat Fiorentina 1-0 at the weekend.
And his manager, Pioli was pleased with his performance, noting that the injury he suffered while on international duty with Nigeria in Portugal last month slowed down his adaptation.
“I was happy with Chukwueze’s performance against Fiorentina. He had a difficult start due to an injury, which slowed down his integration into the team,” he told reporters.
“Being a bit further inside allows him to be more involved in the game, but his position will depend on how we decide to play and his combinations with Calabria.”
