According to head coach Jose Peseiro, the Super Eagles can cope without injured defender William Troost-Ekong.
Due to injury, Troost-Ekong will miss Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe on Monday (today).
Last Thursday, the Watford defender was injured in Nigeria’s 2-1 home win over Sierra Leone’s Leone Stars.
On Friday, the centre-back flew to London for more tests on his injury.
“Troost-Ekong is not here but I have other players, I have other centre-backs,” Peseiro told a press conference on Sunday
“Of course we want to improve our defensive process. We should be able to play a good centre-back.”
Innocent Bonke, a midfielder for Lorient in France, will also miss the game for the Super Eagles.
