Cristiano Ronaldo might have to wait until next Tuesday to make his second full Manchester United debut, the UK Sun reports.
The 36-year-old is due to report for training this week for the first time since returning to Old Trafford from Juventus.
But Ronaldo will have little time to prepare for the Premier League clash at home against Newcastle on Saturday.
The Portugal captain may have to settle for a place on the bench, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer waited a fortnight to give Raphael Varane his first start after joining from Real Madrid for £41million.
Ronaldo can expect a start in United’s low key Champions League away trip to Switzerland next Tuesday when they take on Young Boys in Bern.
Ronaldo sealed his sensational switch to the Red Devils in a £19.8m move from Juventus in the summer, 12 years on from his departure for Spanish giants Real.
The Portuguese was released from international duty early this week and touched down in Manchester on Thursday.
