Rohr to receive N600m if NFF sacks him

    By Oreva BenedictNovember 18, 2021

Nigeria coach, Gernot Rohr, will be paid over N600m in compensation, if he is sacked by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

There have been speculations that Rohr has been fired, following the Super Eagles‘ 1-1 draw with Cape Verde in a World Cup qualifier.

But the NFF’s Assistant Director, Media, Ademola Olajire, has denied knowledge of Rohr’s sacking.

Olajire insisted that it’s only after a board meeting of the NFF and a signed statement released that Rohr’s sack could be authenticated.

Rohr has been in charge of the Super Eagles since 2016.

His new deal with the Super Eagles will expire after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

However, the financial implication of sacking Rohr now is that he will get a payoff of over N600 million because he pays his coaching staff from his salary.

Rohr gets $45,000 per month as salary and has one and half years still to go.

So, the NFF will look to cough out if they decide to sack him this month.
