Cristiano Ronaldo‘s sister, Katia Aveiro, has rated this year’s World Cup as “the worst ever” after Argentina defeated France in a thrilling final.

Lionel Messi scored twice in what is surely his last match ever in the tournament, as his country won it again for the first time since 1986.

The game is likely to be remembered as the most exciting World Cup final of all time due to the high level of drama involved.

Kylian Mbappe scored twice in a minute to take the game to extra-time and the game eventually was decided on a penalty shootout.

Messi’s rival, Ronaldo, endured a difficult tournament and Portugal were sent packing by Morocco in the quarter-final over a week ago.

Ronaldo went straight down the tunnel in tears after missing out on the chance to add the only major honour missing from his glittering CV. He will be aged 41 by the time of the next World Cup.
