Fernando Santos makes three changes to the Portugal side that beat Ghana.
In comes Pepe – yes, this should be fun – for his 130th cap. The old boy is 39 years and 275 days old.
William Carvalho is the other change.
The man who ended Portugal’s World Cup in 2018, Edinson Cavani, has been selected ahead of Luis Suarez to lead the Uruguay line.
There’s a Liverpool and Manchester United feels to the other two changes with Guillermo Varela and Sebastian Coates also coming in – both formerly of the Premier League duo.
Edinson Cavani’s double to knock Portugal out of the 2018 World Cup will feel fresh in the minds of many involved. Whether a Portugal win here would constitute proper revenge is debatable but it would make it tough for Uruguay to progress out of this competitive group.
