Reactions have trailed the booing received by Neymar and Lionel Messi from Paris St-Germain fans in the club’s 3-0 against Bordeaux on Sunday.
The PSG fans were angry at both star players for failing to secure progress for the club in the Champions League.
PSG were last week knocked out of the tournament by Real Madrid after a hattrick from Kareem Benzema that cancelled Kylian Mbappe’s opening goal.
Facing Bordeaux in the Ligue 1 on Sunday, Neymar and Messi were booed by disappointed fans.
in his reaction, manager Muaricio Pochettino told reporters: “Everyone who loves PSG is sad after the disappointment of Madrid. I’m sad with what I experienced today.
“We were all affected. We understand the disappointment and the frustration. We’re all living it together, as a team.
“We have a duty to take responsibility for what happened. We share this disappointment with the supporters.”
Luis Suarez and Cesc Fabregas who once played alongside Neymar and Messi reacted by showing support.
“As always, football has no memories.
“Always with you. I love you very much,” Suarez posted on Instagram.
Fabregas added, “Football has no memory whatsoever… it’s a shame,” the ex-Chelsea midfielder posted on Twitter.
“Always with you brothers.”
