The President of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick, has said he has no plan to go for a third term in office.
He said this amid pressure from football fans for him to be sacked or resign following the poor results gotten by the Super Eagles in recent times.
The Eagles had crashed out of the 2021 AFCON and also failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Speaking on Friday, Pinnick stated that he won’t be extending his stay at the NFF because of his family who believe the job is taking a toll on him.
“I’m eligible to run based on the status. Do I want to run ?, It’s a no-no, my family is very key to me, they said it’s taking a toll on me and the family. They believed that I’ve done my best and it was time to move on. It’s a regrettable decision, but it’s the best “, Pinnick told Arise TV
Pinnick has been in charge of football in the country since 2014.
