Petr Cech speaks on Lampard for Chelsea manager, says job still open to others

Petr Cech has stated that the Chelsea manager job is still open to all despite Frank Lampard being heavily touted to take over.

The manager job became vacant after Maurizio Sarri left for Juventus. One of the most touted for the job is Frank Lampard who currently to has two years left on his contract with Championship side Derby County.

However, Chelsea are willing to offer him a deal worth £4million a year.

With talks still ongoing, Petr Cech who got assigned as the club’s new technical and performance manager said:

“The situation is open, Frank is one of the candidates.

“We still have several days before the first team starts preparing. We would like to resolve the issue of the coach.”

“The first thing is to choose the coach.

“This will affect future work. The trainer will have his ideas. The Club is likely to have a ban on transfers, so we will have to take from our resources.

“Some players have left. The idea is that I will be with the first team. I have the opportunity to follow the development of the preparations.

“We have a tour in Japan, among others, in pre-season, where we will play Barcelona. I could consult with all the candidates – they know my ideas.”
