Paris Olympics 2024: More heartbreak for Nigeria as 4x400m men are disqualified from final

Nigeria’s slim hopes of winning any medal at the ongoing 2024 Olympics continue to dwindle, after the 4x400m men’s relay team were disqualified on Friday.

The quartet of Emmanuel Ojeli, Ezekiel Nathanial, Dubem Amene, and Chidi Okezie initially qualified for the final of the event.

But the officials have now deemed that they stepped on the line during their heat.

Belgium now moved to second position, with South Africa stepping up to third position.

This comes on the same day Tobi Amusan failed to qualify for the 100m hurdles final.

Amusan finished third in her semi-final race and ninth in the overall rankings.

The Olympics come to an end on Sunday, August 11.
