Victor Osimhen’s four-goal haul against Sao Tome and Principe on Monday, saw him overtake former Nigerian internationals, Nwankwo Kanu, Daniel Amokachi and Austin Jay-Jay Okocha in the scoring charts.
The Napoli star was on fire as the Super Eagles won 10-0 at the Stade Adrar Stadium.
Terem Moffi netted a brace, with a strike each from Moses Simon, Oghenekaro Etebo, Ademola Lookman and Emmanuel Dennis ensuring Jose Peseiro’s men defeated Sao Tome.
Osimhen’s four goals against Sao Tome was his 15th strike in 22 appearances for the Super Eagles.
The goal takes the Napoli star above Kanu (12 goals), Amokachi (13 goals) and Okocha’s 14 on Nigeria’s all-time goalscorer chart.
Osimhen is now just a goal behind Odion Ighalo (16).
The Napoli star is still miles away from catching the late Rashidi Yekini’s 37-goal haul for the Super Eagles.
