Seyi Olofinjana, the technical director of Grasshopper Club Zurich, has been fired.
The former Super Eagles midfielder was only at the club for one season.

Club President Sky Sun revealed that the decision was made after the board agreed to a change in the squad’s management for the upcoming season.
“Over the past weeks, intense discussions regarding the future of the club were held. Through these open and fair conversations, the parties came to the joint decision to go separate ways,”Sun stated via a statement on the club’s official website.
“As a club with a strong heritage and ambitious vision, our aim must be to continuously push it forward and challenge ourselves on a regular basis.
“Following the transparent discussions and in light of the diverging views on the future direction of the club, it was mutually recognized that change within the leadership team was inevitable.
“The board of directors together with the concerned parties came to this decision in the best interest of the club’s future in order to keep pursuing its ambitious goals in the years to come.
“We would like to thank Jimmy and Seyi for their always professional and constructive collaboration. Seyi has always shown great dedication and committed fully to any challenge with strong passion.
