The Super Eagles will play Lesotho on Thursday with a new captain.
The team has picked Kelechi Iheanacho of English Championship side Leicester City as the new captain.
Iheanacho occupies the position made vacant by the absence of Ahmed Musa and assistant captain, William Troost-EKong.
Meanwhile, the lineup for the game has been released by coach Jose Peseiro.
The Nigerian side will be filing out on a 4-4-2 formation for the game.
Francis Uzoho has retained his place in goal and will be protected by Bright Osayi-Samuel and Jamilu Collins, Semi Ajayi and Calvin Bassey in defence.
Alex Iwobi will hold the midfield alongside Frank Onyeka while Ademola Lookman and Iheanacho run the flanks.
Bayer Leverkusen star, Victor Boniface and Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi will lead the team’s attack.
The match will start at 5pm at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
