Victor Osimhen’s replacement in the Super Eagles squad, Victor Boniface, is boasting ahead of their game against Lesotho on Thursday.
Nigeria will face the Lakuena of Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Akwa Ibom on Thursday before setting out to Zimbabwe.
Boniface, who is one of the hottest strikers in Europe at the moment, is expected to lead the Super Eagles’ attack for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Boniface has been in fantastic form for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen this season.
The Nigerian international has netted seven times and made five assists in 11 league outings for Die Werkself this season.
The striker said he is determined to replicate his club form on the international scene.
“I’m ready and focused, we are determined so we will see what happens,” he said on NFF TV after the team’s final training session on Wednesday.
“Training has been really good, we’ve done two training sessions in a short time and every player is focused on the game.
“I will try to do my best, give 100 percent and also try to win the game. We can’t wait to see our fans at the stadium because we need their support.“
