Victor Osimhen and Ahmed Musa scored for Nigeria, as they recorded a 2-0 victory over Liberia in a 2022 World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
The Super Eagles went into the crunch needing maximum points, with second-placed Central African Republic breathing down their necks.
They got the first goal in the 15th minute, after Kelechi Iheanacho was fouled in the area.
Osimhen stepped up and dispatched the penalty kick.
Gernot Rohr‘s men had to wait for the last minutes of the game to seal the win, after Musa scored from the spot.
Nigeria continue to lead Group C with 12 points from five games, two more than Cape Verde who they meet in their final qualifier.
