Victor Osimhen of the Super Eagles and Giovanni Simeone of Hellas Verona have similarities that Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has emphasised.
Laurentiis wants to pair both centre forwards in the Partonepei’s attack because Osimhen and Simeone were important players at their respective clubs last season.
Laurentiis stated in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli that he believes Simeone and Osimhen will be ideal for the Napoli attack.
“Simone? I really like,” Laurentiis said.
“We have to see what Spalletti thinks because he is a very good striker, perhaps he complements Osimhen less than Petagna because perhaps he is more similar to Osimhen.
“We don’t have to play 4-4-2 with two strikers. The players must not be offended if they are substituted at some point.
“A game lasts 90′, if we have brought the five changes to the table it is because these five changes must be usable in the most correct way.
“If someone is substituted in the second half he must not feel handicapped.
“It is the coach who knows how to harmonize, manage and optimize all the players against that specific team.”
Osimhen played 27 times for Napoli in Serie A last year, scoring 14 goals and dishing out two assists.
Simeone, the son of Diego Simeone, the Atletico Madrid coach, scored 17 goals and had five assists in 35 games last season in Serie A.
