Marcos Alonso, a defender for Chelsea, has expressed his desire to exit the English club as the player disclosed he wants to play for Barcelona.

The Spaniard has been a key player in recent years, with his best work coming at wing-back, where Antonio Conte started him in 2016.

Alonso has previously been linked with a return to Spain, where he first broke through at Real Madrid.

While the full-back has stated that he is not looking for a move this summer, he has stated that he wants to prove himself in his homeland, having only made one appearance in La Liga.

“Go back to Spain? I have one more year on my contract. I’ve already said it before that I’d like to, but in the end, it doesn’t entirely depend on me,” he said during Spain duty, as cited by Sport.

“It’s clear that the desire to one day play in Spain is there”.

“I’ve said various times I would like it but in the end it’s not all up to me. It’s clear that the desire to play in Spain one day is there.”

The Chelsea defender, along with Jose Gaya, is one of Barca’s top targets for that position.
