Following a thorough medical, Manchester United has completed the signing of Christian Eriksen on a three-year contract.
The 30-year-old has bolstered Erik ten Hag’s midfield options at Old Trafford after rejecting a return to Brentford, where he impressed on loan last season.
Due to the long flight from the UK, Denmark international Eriksen will not join United’s pre-season tour of Australia.
Eriksen will reunite with Ten Hag, who helped facilitate Eriksen’s return from the cardiac arrest he suffered at Euro 2020 by inviting him to train with Ajax during his rehabilitation.
United were patient in their pursuit of Eriksen and did not put any pressure on the midfielder to make a decision, knowing that his decision would be influenced by factors other than football.
