Man City vs Newcastle: Starting XIs for EPL clash confirmed | Full lists

Pep Guardiola has shaken up his Man City side, with six changes from the midweek FA Cup win at Bristol City.

Ederson returns in goal in place of Stefan Ortega, Kyle Walker is preferred to Rico Lewis at right-back, while Rodri returns to the holding midfield role, with Kalvin Phillips benched.

Bernardo Silva, Julian Alvarez and Riyad Mahrez are also among the subs, with Ilkay Gundogan, Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland back in the side.

Eddie Howe has made three changes from the team which lost the Carabao Cup final, with Jamaal Lascelles making a surprise start at the heart of the Newcastle defence.

The club captain has only made eight appearances this season and this will be his first start in the Premier League since August.

He’s in for Fabian Schar, who isn’t listed in today’s match squad, while Nick Pope is back from suspension in place of Loris Karius in goal. After his Wembley runout, Karius isn’t in today’s squad, with Martin Dubravaka – cup-tied against Man Utd – on the bench.

There is also a start for Anthony Gordon, with Allan Saint-Maximin among the subs.
