Man City vs Liverpool: Top players to miss crunch Premier League clash[Full list]

Some top players of both Liverpool and Manchester City will not be available for Premier League clash on Saturday

Manchester City hosts Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.

The game comes up on lunch time as the Citizens would hope to extend their lead to at least 4 points.

Liverpool are trailing Pep Guardiola’s side just by one point and could also take the leadership position with a win.

Team news:

Erling Haaland missed  Norway’s final Euro 2024 qualifier with Scotland owing to an ankle problem and City fans would be relieved to hear that he would be available to face the Reds on Saturday.

Also Ederson is nursing a foot problem, while Nathan Ake had a knock. Mateo Kovacic suffered a thigh problem while Sergio Gomez had a pain in his ankle.  Kevin De Bruyne is out with a hamstring, John Stones (thigh) and Matheus Nunes will watch on from the sidelines.

Haaland is said to be increasingly confident that he will be fit to play against Liverpool this weekend having trained ahead of the contest.

For Liverpool, the medical team will have to make late calls on the likes of Ryan Gravenberch (knee), Joe Gomez (knock), Curtis Jones (hamstring) and Ibrahima Konate (hamstring).

However, all four players trained with the team ahead of the crunch contest.

But the likes of Thiago Alcantara (hip), Stefan Bajcetic (calf) and Andrew Robertson (shoulder) have been ruled out of the game.

Salah scored his 200th goal in English football against Brentford two weeks ago and needs just one more to hit the 150 mark in the English top flight league.

Pep Guardiola’s possible starting XI against Liverpool:

Ederson; Walker, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol; Silva, Rodri, Foden; Doku, Haaland, Grealish

Jurgen Klopp’s possible starting XI against City:

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Jota, Gakpo

Prediction:  Manchester City 3-2 Liverpool
