Everything will be on the line for Manchester City when they play their final game of the Premier League season.

Although it is difficult to conceive of a scenario in which Pep Guardiola’s machine-like team is unable to win both the national championship and the Champions League in such a short period of time, it is still possible that this will occur.

The fact that Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is in the opposing dugout is something that simply cannot be ignored, as winning is the only thing that will absolutely guarantee that City will win their fourth League title in the last five years.

The way in which they played against West Ham was cause for some concern, and the fact that Aston Villa was able to give Liverpool a run for their money the week before suggests that City might be in for an anxious afternoon. Having said that, City have a wealth of experience in the aforementioned field.

Here’s everything you need to know about the game.

Manchester City vs Aston Villa team news

Guardiola has confirmed that Kyle Walker and John Stones have returned to training, which is a significant boost for the club’s chances of winning the title. They should, at least in theory, be able to tighten up a defense that West Ham had success against the week before when they come back into the lineup.

Aside from that, Fernandinho will make at least one final appearance for City in some capacity, possibly alongside Ilkay Gundogan. This will be his last game with the club.

Former Liverpool players Danny Ings and Philippe Coutinho were both given the week off by Villa manager Steven Gerrard in order to prepare for their match against Burnley, in which they will undoubtedly play a starting role.

The only significant injury concern for the away team is with Ezri Konsa.
