Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Harry Maguire will remain as the club’s captain.
Hag made this known while speaking at his first press conference of Tour 2022 to preview Tuesday’s match against Liverpool at Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium.
Speaking at the press conference, Hag was asked about who will be his captain, to which he answered, “Harry Maguire is the captain.”
He then provided answer to question on why Maguire was right for the role during his tenure as manager.
“Of course, I have to get to know all the players and it takes time,” said the manager.
“But he is an established captain for a few years and he has achieved a lot of success, so I don’t doubt about this issue.”
Maguire was handed the armband shortly after he joined United from Leicester City in 2019 and under then-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
