Arsenal are ready to make room in their squad by releasing four of their unwanted players, beginning with Albert Sambi Lokonga.
For the second summer in a row, Arsenal made significant off-season investments, spending well over £100 million. The Gunners have welcomed five new players, including Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus, who together cost Manchester City £78 million. However, after blowing so much money, Arsenal will need to make some of their expenditures up by making some of their own sales.
So far, six first-team players, including Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira, and Alexandre Lacazette, have said their goodbyes to Arsenal. Mikel Arteta, however, wants to further reduce Arsenal’s roster by allowing four more fringe players to leave.
As a result, it appears that Lokonga is in talks with AC Milan, and that exit is about to be closed.
The Belgian player joined last summer in a £15.8 million transfer from Anderlecht and appeared 19 times in the Premier League.
However, according to il Corriere dello Sport, negotiations between the two clubs are progressing and Arteta is prepared to approve his departure.
That will result in Lokonga’s season-long loan transfer to the San Siro.
