Lionel Messi trophies: The Argentine legend finally got to hoist one of the few trophies that had eluded him throughout his career after Argentina won the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The attacker rarely goes a season at the club level without winning a trophy, and he won four UEFA Champions League titles with Barcelona.
But up until a few years ago, Messi’s international record didn’t exactly make for compelling reading because he and Argentina lost a lot of finals.
But the recognisable No. 10 appears to be capping off his career on the international stage with a bang as he nearly completes the trophy bingo of contemporary football.
Lionel Messi trophies with Argentina
The 2022 World Cup has quickly filled Messi’s trophy cabinet at the international level over the past two years.
The Argentine broke his trophy drought at senior level in 2021 as he won the Copa America final at his fourth attempt.
Prior to that, Messi had won titles with Argentina’s U20 and Olympic team over a decade earlier.

Lionel Messi individual awards
All of those team trophies would not have flowed as freely if Messi had not been so dominant.
For the past 15 years, his final-third magic has mesmerised the world, and as a result, he has won numerous individual awards.
Given that his rival Cristiano Ronaldo is stuck at five, his seven Ballon d’Or victories are a record that will be difficult to top.

What hasn’t Messi won?
The World Cup has long been regarded as Messi’s lone remaining title.
He has now won both the World Cup and Copa America, the two major international awards available to a South American player, thanks to Argentina’s victory over France in 2022.
He has won the league with his two clubs and four UEFA Champions League championships at the club level.
Messi won every team trophy available in Spain with Barcelona. He still has to accomplish this feat in France with PSG, though, as they were unsuccessful in winning the Coupe de France in 2021–2022.
If he wins that cup this year and leads PSG to European glory, his trophy collection would be without a doubt full.
