PSG’s main man Kylian Mbappe has said that he never ask to join Real Madrid this summer amidst speculation regarding his future.
The 2018 World Cup winner recently told the club he won’t be extending his contract at the French capital city club which expires in 2024, by a further year.
This means that he could, hence, leave the club as a free agent next summer.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the club are open to selling Mbappe this summer if he doesn’t sign the extension as they will not want to lose him for free next year.
Amidst this, reports have heavily linked the Frenchman with Real Madrid, who have pursued him for a while now.
Mbappe told Gazzetta dello Sport, “I didn’t ask to leave PSG or to join Real Madrid. I just told the club that I won’t activate the option to extend the contract until June 2025.
“We never discussed new deal with PSG but I’m happy to stay here next season,” Mbappe said.
