Chelsea have emerged triumphant against Barcelona in a pre-season friendly which took place in Japan.
The game saw an opener from Abraham who rounded the goalkeeper to net in. Barcelona new signing Antoine Griezman on his debut got a goal, but a late effort by substitute Barkley saw Chelsea end the game 2-1.
Speaking after the game, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard touched on the absence of N’golo Kante who was out injured.
“He is OK,” Lampard said.
“It was a decision that I made because I felt that him being here, with the facilities and the moving and travel that we have been doing, it probably wasn’t the most beneficial for him.
“Hopefully by the time we get back at the end of the week I will sit down with the doctor and hopefully he will be back with us very soon.”
Barcelona manager, Ernesto Valverde had the below to say about his new signing Antoine Griezman.
“Griezmann has to get used to Barcelona’s play.
“It’s easy to see how dangerous he is with the ball. He has bad intentions always for the rival.
“We need a lot from him but it’s the first match. He has to see how we pressure and dominate rivals, but it’s the first match,” Valverde told reporters after the game.
