Italian legend, Giordano reveals why Osimhen is different from other Napoli strikers

Former Napoli striker Bruno Giordano has tipped Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, to do well at the club.

Osimhen, who moved to Italy after scoring over 20 goals for French side, Lille in the 2019/20 season has found the net only four times in fifteen appearances for Napoli this season.

Many football pundits in Italy are impatient with the Nigerian and are already seeing him as a flop following the amount of money spent in acquiring his services.

According to Giordano, who also played for Lazio, Osimhen possesses some unique qualities that differentiate him from other strikers at the club.

Speaking with La Gazzetta,  the former Italy International said, “The price of an attacker depends on the market and the demands the player has.

“I don’t know if the Nigerian is worth so much: I know that Haaland at Borussia cost less and so it is logical that the square should question itself given the high expectations surrounding Victor, who is only 22 years old.

“He has different characteristics from the other Napoli strikers and this season his growth has been held back by all the injuries he has had.

“He is very fast , hits well with his head and knows how to give depth to the team. I am convinced that already in this championship final he will be able to do good things .

“So let’s talk about the player and no longer about market valuations”.

Napoli travel to Sampdoria for their Serie A match on Sunday afternoon having lost 2-1 to title holders, Juventus midweek.
