Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has replied to a legend of the National team, Victor Ikpeba, who criticised his performance during the Nigeria Vs Ghana World Cup play-offs.

Osimhen had tried using the bicycle kick to score but failed on all attempts during the second leg of the encounter.

The Super Eagles ended up failing to qualify for the Qatar 2022 World Cup after a 1-1 draw in Abuja which followed a goalless draw in Kumasi.

Speaking on Supersport, Ikpeba slammed the 23-year-old, saying, “Victor Osimhen is a good player but is not yet a finished article, forget he’s playing for Napoli. Some of those crosses he might have controlled instead of trying to do a bicycle kick.

“He’s still a young player but I hope that he can improve where he is in Napoli and help the national team in the future. He needs to understand when to play the ball and when to play bicycle kicks.”

In response, Osimhen stated that he would continue to do as he says and would not follow the instructions of a football pundit.

This was during a Twitter engagement with Super Falcons striker, Asisaat Oshoala.

Oshoala had written, “Werey dem say make u no dey do bicycle kick,” to which Osimhen replied, “I go continue dey do am, no be that pundit go tell me wetin to do.“
