Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho of the Super Eagles, have both seen their goals nominated for Leicester City’s Goal of the Month award for August.
The Foxes have already played five games in the Championship since their relegation.
They have won four and lost just one, sitting third on the table behind Ipswich Town and Preston North End.
Eight goals were nominated for Leicester City’s Goal of the Month award for August 2023, with goals from the first team, and the youth team included in the nominations.
Wilfred Ndidi’s goal against Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup first round was nominated. The goal was created by fellow countryman, Kelechi Iheanacho, as he sped with the ball on the left wing before sending a low cross toward Ndidi, who sent his shot into the top corner.
Iheanacho’s opener Burton Albion was also nominated, with Ndidi involved in the build-up. Some neat play in the midfield saw Marc Albrighton on the edge of the box, and he crossed the ball to Iheanacho, whose silky backheel left the goalkeeper stranded. He also got the Man of the Match award in that game.
