Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric, has said he won’t be like Paris St-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe, when it comes to his future with the Spanish giants.
This was after Mbappe snubbed a move to join Madrid after months of strong speculations linking him with the club.
The French international and World Cup winner recently extended his contract with PSG which had come to an end and would have seen him leave the Ligue 1 side as a free agent to join Modric in Spain.
Speaking to COPE about his future with Madrid, Modric made no secret about his allegiance to Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
“I have not extended my contract with Real Madrid yet, but I won’t do like Mbappe,” Modric joked. “And I hope the club won’t do that to me!”
“We have a good relationship. I have said many times that I want to finish my career here.”
On if he was shocked when Mbappe snubbed Madrid, Modric responded: “No, because we didn’t know anything. We had no expectations.
“There was a lot of talk about this, for a year, but we didn’t know anything; if it was going to happen or not, and that is why we have to close that topic and not talk about it anymore.”
