Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface has said he is not satisfied with his numbers so far this season.
The 22-year-old Nigeria has scored five goals in the Bundesliga this season.
Boniface has also shown his creative side by providing two assists as well, combining for seven goal combinations in five games.
He broke a 28-year Bundesliga record during the last matchday, having the most shots on goal after five matchdays. Uwe Wegmann held the previous record with VFL Bochum in the 1994/1995 season.
The striker learned about the record after Leverkusen defeated Heidenhem 4-1, and his response was unconventional. The striker didn’t feel pleased but rather wanted more.
“No, I really can’t be happy. How would I be? If you shoot 38 times on goal, you have to score at least 25 goals. I scored eight. I have no particular reason to be happy about that.” The striker said, as quoted by Mozzartsports.
The 191cm-tall striker seems to possess a mentality similar to five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, as both attackers want to always do more for their teams by helping out with scoring goals.
Meanwhile, Leverkusen and Boniface are not looking to slow down anytime soon as they travel to a winless Mainz this weekend.
