Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been described as the greatest manager in the history of football.
Jonathan Woodgate, a former Real Madrid defender, believes that Manchester City’s 1-0 win over Inter Milan in this year’s Champions League final, confirms the Spanish gaffer as the best manager of all time.
Guardiola won the trophy twice with Barcelona, and led the Premier League team to a Treble this season, beating Manchester United to the FA Cup and stealing the Premier League from the fingers of Arsenal.
Woodgate, also a Premier League legend, hailed the former Bayern Munich boss while speaking to BBC Radio Live.
“It confirms Pep Guardiola is the greatest. He changes the way we look at football. He’s an innovator. He puts people in different positions and he makes it work.
“He improves every player he works with and if someone doesn’t want to work with him, he gets them out of the team.
“He installs a great team spirit, Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland have talked about it. Tonight the spirit got him over the line,” he said.
