England earned a 1-1 tie against Germany in Munich thanks to Harry Kane’s 50th international goal.
Gareth Southgate’s men were looking to bounce back from a lacklustre 1-0 loss to Hungary in their opening Group 3A match, but they came up short against a much-changed Germany at the Allianz Arena.
Five minutes into the second half, Jonas Hofmann, who had an earlier effort disallowed for offside, latched on to Joshua Kimmich’s fine pass to break the deadlock.
After drawing a superb save from Manuel Neuer, Kane won and converted a penalty two minutes from time to become only the second Englishman after Wayne Rooney to reach a half-century of goals in international colours.
