Germany become first nation to qualify for 2022 World Cup

Olumide ABy Olumide AOctober 12, 2021

European country Germany have become the first country to qualify for the 2022 Qatar world cup.

This comes after the German machines defeated North Macedonia in a 4-0 scoreline.

Germany made it to the top spot in Group J with two games to spare.

Their game against North Macedonia saw Chelsea players Timo Werner and Kai Havertz score goals as well as Jamal Musiala.

The Germans under their new coach Hansi Flick currently have 21 points, with Romania in second place on 13.

According to the reports, all group winners in European qualification were said to have automatically secured a place at the tournament in Qatar.

‘From the result it was perfect. We got what we wanted, qualified as quickly as possible and we now have five wins in a row,’ Flick, who took over as the national coach from Joachim Low earlier this year, said.

‘Again the attitude was right. Compliments to the team. They did not ease off. The first half was a bit wild and we lacked a bit of precision. But we kept at it. We can be satisfied.’
