In light of a potential move to an EPL club, Frenkie De Jong has been spotted travelling to London.
The Dutchman has been linked to Barcelona’s exit door throughout the summer, with Manchester United initially leading the race to sign him.
De Jong, however, now seems poised to complete a move to the Premier League after sitting on the bench for the second time this season.
De Jong, 25, was spotted at an airport where a London-bound flight was about to take off.
According to earlier reports, Chelsea and Barcelona have agreed on a transfer fee of about £63 million.
Todd Boehly, the new owner of Chelsea, has already spent more than £180 million on bolstering Thomas Tuchel’s team.
Deals for Wesley Fofana of Leicester and Anthony Gordon of Everton are also pending, with the former travelling to the US for a medical before a move that could set a record for a defender.
United reportedly reached a deal as well, but their attempts to bring De Jong and Erik ten Hag back together have so far failed.
De Jong’s movements, despite the fact that these clubs are interested in him, are not said to be transfer-related.
Following their 4-0 victory over Real Valladolid, the Barcelona team reportedly received a few days off, according to Samuel Marsden.
He maintains that De Jong staying at Barcelona without any modifications to his salary terms is the most likely outcome for De Jong’s future.
According to additional reports, De Jong is travelling to attend the wedding of his former International teammate and current Man United star Donny van de Beek, who invited him.
