According to reports in Spain, Manchester United are in discussions with Barcelona about adding a second player to their roster this summer as they continue to pursue Frenkie de Jong.
Erik ten Hag wants to sign Blaugrana right-back Sergino Dest, and in order to do so, he’s prepared to send current starter Diogo Dalot the other way.
During the final three weeks of the summer transfer window, the Dutchman wants to improve his options for right-back among signings for the midfield and the attack. Furthermore, Dalot appears to be in the shop window prior to the deadline of September 1 while United are considering offers for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Sport claims that this month, as Ten Hag looks to bolster his squad, United and Barcelona are in negotiations over the signing of Dest. Although Barca is asking for roughly £17 million for the USMNT defender, the Red Devils are willing to sweeten a deal by including Dalot, who has served as Ten Hag’s primary right-back to start the season.
