Although Kylian Mbappe is the “main weapon” for France, Adrien Rabiot insists that the team is not dependent on the forward to win the World Cup again.
With five goals scored so far at Qatar 2022, the Paris Saint-Germain forward is in first place. He scored twice as Didier Deschamps’ team defeated Poland 3-1 to advance to the quarterfinals.
That has set up England, who won the Euro 2020 final, as France’s toughest test of the tournament, and the attacker will be hoping to make a difference once more.
Rabiot claims Mbappe is not the only player on their team who can contribute to victories, despite the fact that they have needed him to spark them forward on a number of occasions thus far.
Adrien Rabiot’s statement
“There is no dependency,” Rabiot stated. “He is our main weapon, but we also have other players who can make a difference in other ways.
“We count on him as on all the players in the group. Everyone needs to be good health to face England.
“Kylian is impressive, and from year to year, he evolves and becomes even better. I don’t know where [his growth] will stop. We are lucky to have him in our team and not against us.”
Four years ago, Mbappe played in a match that made him a star, and in the time since, his reputation has only grown.
Although France has stated there is no reason for concern regarding his injury, he did not participate in team practice on Tuesday. He is still expected to play against England on Saturday.
