Antonio Rudiger, a former Chelsea player, has revealed why he bullies attackers during games.
When asked about his role model in the game, the defender revealed who his role model is, and he is not shy to name Real Madrid hero Pepe as his exemplary model.
Rudiger’s style of play is clearly influenced by the Portuguese defender Pepe, who is famed for his no-nonsense style of play.
“Pepe was my great model at Real Madrid, I always wanted to be like him. I used to watch videos of him straddling his opponents,” he said.
“I was still young then and I wanted to show everyone that I could be tough too. That was in my head. It was unbelievable how good Pepe was.
“Not only in the tackle, but also in the preparation of the game. But today everyone at Real tells me that off the pitch he was actually a very calm character,” he said.
