Former Chelsea player, Didier Drogba has been named an ambassador for the France Football Ballon d’Or.
The Ivorian was named an ambassador on Thursday and will present the award to the winner come December 2nd in Paris.
“I feel honoured to present this prestigious award. I see it as an acknowledgement of my career and its exemplarity,” Drogba said in a statement .
During his time at Chelsea, Drogba was nominated eight times between 2004 and 2012, and in 2007 when he came fourth.
“I would have liked to do better but this fourth place is a great reward,” admits Drogba.
