The Falconets of Nigeria have departed for Costa Rica in preparation for the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
On Thursday evening, 21 athletes under the direction of head coach Chris Danjuma departed from Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport for the biennial competition.
Danjuma remained confident in the majority of the players who competed in the qualifiers.
Some of the players who made the list include Captain Oluwatosin Demehin, Bashirat Amoo, Chinyere Kalu, and Chiamaka Okwuchukwu.
Starting on August 10, the Falconets will compete in Group C of the 16-nation tournament against France, Canada, and Korea Republic.
France will be the opponent for Danjuma’s girls’ first game at the Alejandro Morera Soto.
