Former Premier League manager Tim Sherwood has told Wout Weghorst to leave Manchester United.
Sherwood believes that the striker should not be in a Red Devils’ shirt and lacks quality after the Red Devils were beaten in Saturday’s FA Cup final.
Manchester City beat Erik ten Hag’s side 2-1 inside the Wembley Stadium and Weghorst, who is on loan from Burnley, came off the bench in the stages to replace Jadon Sancho, but was unable to help United to find an equaliser.
Weghorst appears to have played his last game for United as he could only register two goals for United across 31 appearances.
“Wout Weghorst should not be in a Manchester United shirt,” Sherwood told Stadium Astro at Wembley.
“He runs around and tries hard but for me he doesn’t have the quality. They are crying out for centre-forward and they need that as soon as possible.
“They have a lot of quality in other areas and wide players who can affect a game.
“But you need a focal point, someone who can hold up the ball and help Marcus Rashford out.”
