Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has warned his players that their “next big target” is simply to win the next match.
The Blues beat Manchester City 1-0 in the semi-final of the FA Cup on Saturday, ending Pep Guardiola’s Quadruple dream.
Tuchel’s men are still fighting for two trophies – in the FA Cup and Champions League – and a top-four finish this season.
But the German tactician insists it’s vital that no one rests on their laurels after such a big win.
“Now come the crucial weeks, nobody can rest on what we have. We have to keep on going,” Tuchel said in his post-match press conference.
“Everybody who is on the pitch needs to deserve to be on the pitch. When you’re on the pitch you need to show you play your part, you play your role for 100%, that you’re reliable.
“This is what Hakim [Ziyech] did, this is what Timo [Werner] did, this is what Kepa [Arrizabalaga] did today. This is very important.
“I’m very happy for them but on the other hand this is exactly what we need.”
