Vincent Kompany will go back to Manchester City with Burnley in the standout tie of the FA Cup quarter-final.

Manchester United host Fulham for a place in the last four.

In the other two clashes, League Two Grimsby – who stunned Southampton on Wednesday night – travel to Brighton and Sheffield United, victors over Premier League side Tottenham, will host Blackburn.

Perhaps the standout clash is between promotion-chasing Kompany and City, where the former defender will return to familiar surroundings.

City boss Pep Guardiola was full of praise for his players after their victory at Ashton Gate on Tuesday night, with the Catalan seeking to win what would be his second FA Cup with the club.

“It was really tough. Bristol showed us how good they can be. I was impressed by some players, I didn’t know them. The second half was much better,” he said. “Incredible fans at Bristol. We came here five years ago in the Carabao Cup and it was amazing. I remember it perfectly.”
