England won the Euro 2022 tournament after defeating Germany 2-1 in extra time thanks to a goal by Chloe Kelly for the Lionesses.
Lina Magull’s close-range finish cancelled out Ella Toone’s audacious goal in the second half, and with 10 minutes of extra time remaining, Kelly’s header from a corner sent Wembley Stadium into a frenzy.
Within the first 10 minutes of a closely contested first period, there were half chances at each end. Ellen White’s header was easily saved by Merle Fohms, and Lucy Bronze made a valiant effort to block Sara Dabritz’s head attempt.
