Erling Haaland: Dortmund director says “no regrets” after striker’s Man City move

Borussia Dortmund appear to have no regrets about the departure of Erling Haaland to Manchester City, after a director stated that his departure was well-timed.

Since concluding his eagerly awaited summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City, Haaland has made a rapid impression. He has already scored 12 goals in eight games for his new team.

The likelihood that Haaland will meet his high expectations seems to be a foregone conclusion. In light of this, Manchester City will be happy with their investment.

Borussia Dortmund was somewhat helpless to keep Haaland because of a release clause. The Bundesliga team might still be considering what it would be like to have the striker back at their club.

Nevertheless, it doesn’t appear to be on their minds. In fact, Sebastien Kehl, a former player who is now the club’s sporting director, has explained why planning Haaland’s departure had grown to be too much for the team, which offloaded him at the right time.

As much as we have always valued Erling and the success he has had wearing our jersey, the situation ultimately became burdensome for the team as a whole as well as the players’ locker room, according to Kehl in an interview with Sport Bild.

“In general, for the whole environment, it was just him. The timing of the sale was right, both for us and for City.

“The fact that our first 10 goals this season have been scored by 10 different players proves it.”
