EPL: Why Chelsea drew 2-2 with Burnley – Pochettino

Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has criticized his players for their lack of interest, as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Burnley on Saturday.

The Blues dropped points to the 10-man relegation candidates at Stamford Bridge.

Burnley defender Lorenz Assignon and manager Vincent Kompany were both shown red cards in the first half, before Cole Palmer’s penalty put Chelsea in front.

However, Burnley fought back, scoring two equalizers to take a point from their trip to London.

“So disappointed. We didn’t show the consistency and the capacity to deal with and manage the game. We allowed them some actions from set pieces to get some possibility to believe.

“It is a result that shows that we need to improve in many areas if we want to be competitive.

“It was so easy for them to get to our last third. We were not aggressive enough in open play and defending set pieces. We need to improve like a team and be more competitive,” Pochettino told Match of the Day.
